The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) at FAU promotes the study of biomedical engineering in providing advancements in medical technology to improve human health and quality of life. BMES at FAU provides opportunities in research, internships, and careers in the field. Biomedical engineering encompasses the diagnostics and therapeutics in biological systems by applications in engineering. Included are the subjects of prosthetics, biomehcanics, biosignals, sensory systems, micro and nano systems, biomedical imaging, biomaterials, bioinformatics, soft tissue mechanics, medical devices, regenerative tissue growth, pharmaceutical drugs, and more. Biomedical engineering is a quickly growing, promising field. Furthermore, in the subject of dissemination of knowledge, senior members of the group shall serve to educate underclassmen on the idiosyncrasies of engineering and medicine.
For more information on Biomedical Engineering please visit the BMES national website.
BMES was founded in 2014 by Aya Gare and Anthony Pipitone. BMES at FAU is one of over 80 national BMES student chapters.
