To become a member of Tau Beta Pi, you must:

• attend an orientation meeting
• polish the Bent for one hour at EG-36 or EE-96
  
• successfully complete the Scavenger Hunt
  
• complete 6 hours community service
• pay a one-time fee of $100
  
• polish the individual bent (recommended but not required)
• attend the induction ceremony

The individual bent, if you choose to polish it, must be polished by hand using only sandpaper. No power tools should be used. After the induction ceremony, there will be a contest to decide which individual bent is the most polished. The winner will get back the $100.
